Robert C. Collins

Mr. Collins specializes in all aspects of intellectual property law. For 26 years, he was part of the Barnes, Kisselle firm, which merged with Reising, Ethington in 1999. He is very experienced in prosecution, litigation, copyright issues, non-infringement and validity opinions, licensing, and corporate intellectual property portfolio management.

Mr. Collins received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, cum laude, from the University of Michigan in 1967 where he achieved the Dean's List, and became a member of both the Tau Beta Pi and the Et Kappa Nu societies. He received his Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from the Wayne State University Law School in 1972. While in law school, Mr. Collins also worked on the Law Review, and worked in engineering and engineering management at Control Data Corporation.

He is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Detroit-Mercy Law School and is a co-author of the "Casebook on Patent Law," published by the West Publishing Company, 1987, 1995 and 2002. This book is used in law schools today.
